ANNA Money needed a security tool that could scale with them — and protect the sensitive information their clients trust them with. So they turned to OpenVPN.
ANNA Money is an AI-powered business account and tax app for freelancers and small businesses in the UK. It is an all-in-one solution for running a growing business; they provide physical & virtual business debit cards, international payments, automated tax calculation, filing, invoicing, and bookkeeping. The company started acquiring clients in 2018 and is serving over 100,000 clients today — an incredible growth rate.
With that kind of steep increase, ANNA Money needed a security tool that could scale with them — and protect the sensitive information their clients trust them with. That’s why they turned to OpenVPN. To learn more about that decision, we met with two of their engineers: Head of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Denis Arslanbekov, and Vladimir Kozyrev. They work with the SRE team to support and develop infrastructure within the company.
“We have been thinking about security since the beginning of the company,” explains Denis Arslanbekov. They used Access Server for about two years before deciding that it was time to move their security to CloudConnexa. “Our engineering team consists of a couple of people, and we don’t want to maintain services that we couldn’t support. In general, we prefer PaaS/SaaS solutions over self-hosted ones.”
They found the process of switching to CloudConnexa quick and accessible. “We simply needed to configure SSO, networks, and connectors,” says Denis Arslanbekov. “The most important criteria were the ability to automate the provisioning of various VPN entities and use the SSO for users.”
As they switched to CloudConnexa, they also worked with the OpenVPN team to create an implementation that will be helpful for any customer. We're excited to announce our partnership here.
